Blink 182 adalah band beraliran Pop Punk asal Amerika Serikat yg beranggotakan trio Tom DeLonge (Lead Vocal dan Gitar), Mark Hoppus (Bass), dan Travis Barker (Drum).  Band ini dibentuk pada tahun 1992 di Poway, California. Dan sejak saat itu sampai sekarang, Blink 182 telah menjual lebih dari 27 juta kopi album di seluruh dunia. Sebenarnya, drummer pertama Blink 182 bukanlah Travis Barker. Melainkan Scott Raynor. Bersama Scott, Blink 182 merilis album perdana mereka yg bernama Cheshire Cat pada tahun 1994 dan dilanjutkan dengan album berikutnya pada tahun 1997 yaitu album Dude Ranch yg tercatat telah terjual lebih dari 1 juta kopi.  Namun pada pertengahan tour tahun 1998, Scott mengundurkan diri dari band. Sehingga tempat kosong di trio Blink pun di isi oleh Travis Barker yg  tak kalah  piawai dalam menggebuk drum.

Blink 182 mendapatkan sukses yg lebih besar pada tahun 1999 dari penjualan album multi-platinum berjudul Enema Of The State, yg mencapai posisi 9 di chart Billboard berkat single “What’s My Age Again” dan “All The Small Things”. Salah satu factor pemicu popularitas mereka adalah selera humor trio Blink yg terkesan urakan dan kurang sopan, namun hal ini menjadi nilai plus tersendiri bagi mereka. Pada tahun 2001, mereka kembali merilis album yg berjudul Take Off Your Pants and  Jacket. Album tersebut berhasil mencapai posisi 1 di Amerika Serikat, Kanada, dan Jerman.  Album kelima mereka yg berjudul Blink 182 dirilis pada tahun 2003 dan merupakan titik perubahan gaya musik Blink 182, yaitu dengan mencapur unsur eksperimental dan suara Pop Punk khas mereka, sehingga menghasilkan suara yg terdengar lebih dewasa.

Namun pada awal tahun 2005, Blink 182 tertimpa sebuah masalah yg menyebabkan Tom DeLonge meninggalkan band. Hal ini menyebabkan status Blink 182 berada dalam masa vakum Tom  pun membentuk band baru bernama Angels & Airwaves, sementara Mark dan Travis membentuk band +44. Tapi akhirnya Mark dan Travis memutuskan berpisah dan lebih memilih untuk melakukan solo karir.

Tetapi memang kalau sudah bersahabat, akan susah untuk melupakan satu sama lain. Karena itu, pada malam Grammy Awards ke-51 tanggal 8 Februari 2009, Tom, Mark, dan Travis muncul di panggung bersama-sama untuk pertama kalinya sejak Desembar 2004. Di atas panggung tersebut, Travis mengumumkan reformasi band dengan menyatakan, “Dulu kami pernah bermain music bersama, dan kamu memutuskan untuk bermain music bersama lagi”. Mark jg menambahkan, “Blink 182 kembali !”. mereka jg meletakkan sebuah pengumuman di situs web mereka. Pengumuman tersebut tertulis, “Kami telah kembali, maksud kami benar-benar kembali. Memulai dari apa yg kami tinggalkan. Di studio menulis dan merekam album baru. Kami jg bersiap untuk mengelilingi dunia lg. Persahabatan telah diperbaiki”. Setelah melakukan reuni yg mengharukan itu, Blink 182 pun kembali berkonsentrasi untuk merekam album baru mereka yg berjudul Neighborhoods. Album ini dirilis pada 27 September 2011 bersamaan dengan film documenter yg berjudul Blinkumentary.
